Dr. Lilia Simonova, MD is a specialist surgeon in Sofia with over 15 years of experience and interests in general and operative surgery. She performs consultative examinations, ultrasound diagnosis of abdominal organs and surgical interventions in the field of:

  • хирургия на дебелото черво и ректума,  
  • чернодробно-панкреатична, лапароскопска и миниинвазивна хирургия,
  • онкологична хирургия, 
  • хирургия на стомах, слезка, жлъчен мехур и жлъчни пътища
  • млечна жлеза и тумори на кожа- доброкачествени и злокачествени– биопсии, true cut биопсия, радикално лечение при онкологични заболявания на гърдата- мастектомии с аксиларна лимфни дисекция,
  • оперативно лечение на хернии,
  • оперативно лечение на пиларни кисти в опашната област,
  • заболявания на анус и перианално пространство- хемороиди-  THD, HAL-RAR техника, анални фисури, перианални фистули вкл лазерно лечение
  • оперативно лечение  на меките тъкани- липоми, атероми, хидрозаденити
  • биопсия при лимфоми и генерализирана лимфаденомегалия 
  • лечение на хронични и трудно заздравяващи рани и язви,

Professional experience

She graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2009 with the qualification of Master of Medicine. She acquired a specialty in General and Operative Surgery in 2017.

In 2020, she acquired the scientific and educational degree "Doctor" after defending a dissertation on the topic: "Current problems in anastomotic insufficiency after rectal resection".

Since 2011, Dr. Simonova has been an Assistant in the Clinic of General and Hepato-Pancreatic Surgery at the University Hospital "Aleksandrovska" in Sofia, and since 2022 she has held the position of Chief Assistant in the same clinic. She participates in teaching 3rd year medical students and interns at the Department of General and Operative Surgery of the Medical University of Sofia. She is currently also part of the team of specialists at the MC "Hemus".

She speaks English.
